This level includes lay associates who aspire to evangelical perfection according to the spirit of the Institute by participating in its mission, obligating themselves freely through private vows or some other sacred bond. They are the privileged members withing the Third Order Secular, enjoying the rights and particular obligations as thos members who with the consecration of their life, of their prayers and sacrifices attains in abudance the spiritual treasure of our Religious Family, procuring Christian perfection and the glory of God.
Along with this bond, members of the first degree are committed to the use of those resources, in accordance with their state of life, which permit them to a full compliance of their vows or promises, especially the intense dedication to prayer, reading the Sacred Scripture, the participation of the Eucharist; frequent reception of the sacrament of penance, spiritual direction, the practice of spiritual exercises, etc.
The second level consists of various lay movements, each having their own organization, whose members desire to join with our apostolate and mission, each according to multiple options and possibilities and different pastoral need of those place where our Institute is located, according to our spirituality, charism and specific purpose, being aware of the teaching of the Council “The group apostolate of Christian believers then happily corresponds to a human and Christian need and at the same time signifies the communion and unity of the Church in Christ, who said, “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:20).
We always ask God to raise up admirable movements to give glory to God and to manifest to the world the vitality of the Christian life, who can live fully the virtue of charity which never dies (1 Cor 13.8), and being witnesses to the truth, if necessary with their blood, dying with the cry Viva Cristo Rey (Long live Christ the King) !
This is also known as the “Confraternity of the Incarnate Word”. This includes all faithful lay people or priests related in different ways to the Institute, who want to share in its spirit: friends, acquaintances, benefactors, family members, etc., sharing with us the spirituality of our Institute.
They are living members of the Third Order Secular, who although are found in different parts of the world, are united through bonds of prayers and charity, in the same love of God, of His Church and of the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word.
They cooperate with our Religious Family principally in a spiritual way, with their prayers, sacrifices, offering of works and by giving testimony of Marian Slavery; and also, according to the measure of possibilities, in a material way, collaborating in order to sustain our proper works; and finally in an apostolic way, collaborating with our apostolates according to their possibilities and capacities.
